Free Spins Celebrating Independence Day

By July 1, 201950 Comments

America celebrates the Independence Day as the most important holiday in its entire political philosophy. The importance of the God-given rights to freedom and equality, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

The stated principles are there to recall them every now and then and remember what the true path Americans should take. As with all other important concepts, there are always doubts in a way the ideas are put into practice. Are you living your lives in accordance with the ideas of the Founding Fathers? Do you still hold the same values to be of utmost importance?

This is a hard question to answer, because right now I feel our country can be so politically divided with the whole dems vs reps. The division makes me sick because I don’t think any subject is black and white, and can always have compromises made. I’m also not happy about how we treat those seeking refugee or Americans that are immigrants or our racism and more…

However, when I think of American pride, I think of my grandparents that immigrated from Malta, Canada, Ireland, and Scotland. I think about my grandpa who was a Detroit Fireman and raised during the Depression so he taught us to to reuse everything and fix anything broken. He taught me that the Americans Dream isn’t about having a fancy home and expensive car, but rather simply having opportunities. In many ways I won a jackpot being born American because we have so many opportunities and things given to us easily that others struggle for that are basic human necessities of life.

What I wish everyone remembered today and this week is that America is beautiful because it is a Melting Pot. We are a big pot of stew that you can taste each ingredient; you can be your heritage AND have American heritage. I am a “mutt” and love living where I can get authentic cuisine of every type of ethnic food easily. I can learn traditions and celebrate holidays from the whole world’s cultures simply because I am in America. It is never boring and it is always enriching.

My great grandparents came from Malta and my great Grandma said “Don’t speak anything but English in this house so I can learn it.” So my Grandpa never taught us much Maltese and I wish he would have. But I get to share home made pastizzi and baked macaroni with the long noodles with friends and coworkers. I get to share a hard work ethic from learning it from my grandparents that seized the opportunities. I get to have the freedom to be American today, Maltese today, Scottish today, Irish today. I can be whatever religion or gender or sexuality I want. I might still get prejudiced for my differences,

but by law I am Free.

I am proud to be an American for many reasons. But one I have been noticing lately and just spoke with my partner about is that over all other currencies in the world, the most common currency for people to compare when speaking of any currencies but crypto particularly is the US dollar, even if they are not from the US.

Because in our society, the basic concept is all men/women are cereated equal despite race, religious preferences, sexual orientation, social class, etc.
I know lately, our society has a lot of work to do on that concept but it’s the foundation that I’m proud of.

    USERNAME, SICKNT

I am proud to be an American because of the constitution of the United States, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence. These guarantee me the right of freedom. The same freedom I take for granted every day that I get up. I have the freedom of going to work, even if I don’t like it. I don’t have to worry about having to drop out because my family is too poor for me to attend school, or buy me clothes I can go to church on Sunday and worship God in the open. I can share my beliefs with my friends and I don’t have to worry about being taken to jail for this. I can go to WORK and gather around and pray in the hall and not worry about getting kicked out of school, or being arrested. I can read my Bible, and tell anyone and everyone about my favorite book and not worry.

I’m proud to be an American because of the heritage. The story’s that came from all of our diverse cultures fore fathers that prevailed valiantly against all odds. Through adversity They willingly toiled and traveled far and wide all for something as simple as a hope and a dream. It was needless to say courageous , So courageous despite the Struggles they carry-on created where there was nothing established what wasn’t stableBrought forth and boar all of our brother in that you see today. It is nothing short of inspiring and remind me constantly That of which I came from an animal part of is the strings on matched and any degree at least in my eyes

  • Love celebrating our independence, sacrifice, and the American dream. The cook out and fireworks are the best.

  • John Anthony Herrera says:

The Fourth of July means so much to me. I am so proud to be an American. Being a Texan, we take our patriotism very serious. I feel some people forget how great it is to be one. We take it for granted but America is the greatest country. I’ve been to other countries and from what I’ve seen I’ll never take it for granted. I joined the marines and fought in Iraq and Afghanistan so this day means a lot to me. It means freedom, sacrifice, and hope. Happy Fourth of July to everyone and let’s not forget to honor all of our fallen patriots.

    • July 4th is a very important patriotic holiday to us Americans because of our Brave troops who have fought for our country and our independence and freedom and we like to honor them on this day as our Declaration of Independence and much respect goes out to all of the following and are remorse goes out to their family but as for this day they will be remembered and high cheer and celebration for what they have dedicated to our country which has made us one and free Happy 4th of July.

  • Zachary Hudak says:

These days, patriotism means more than apple pie and baseball. Independence Day is more than a day for hot dogs and fireworks. It’s a reminder that men and women have fought for us to be able to do things like post to a blog, freely sharing our opinions. It’s a day that reminds us we have a responsibility to ourselves and to the rest of the world to set an example as the most powerful nation in the world with compassion, strength, and respect. It’s a day to thank our nation and all those who have served us and protected our freedoms as well as those who have stood up in disagreement with the social norm and have fought to change our country in favor those who didn’t have the same freedoms others were granted and took as so. It’s a day to celebrate America and whatever that means to each individual American. So, eat your hot dogs. Play your baseball. Stand up for what you believe in. Start a movement. Fly your flag. Speak your mind. Why? Because you can. You’re an American.

  • it may take forever for me to expreess my appreciation of this day. Ill make it short. The rich history of this state from painful sacrifices to unimaginable victories. All leads to this very day. Thank you so much for providing and preserving of our independence not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally secured.

The Number One that makes me Proud to be an American is that God gave me the Opportunity to be born in America. My grandparents worked darn hard to come to America legally and therefore I take my citizenship by Heart. I’ve instilled the same in my daughter and my students.
    God Bless America!
